I may be able to help a lot--I was asking this same question years ago that led me to pursue a PhD researching traditional indigenous storytelling for patterns for interactive digital experiences (not just games in this case since it became too sticky to ask what kinds of game mechanics we can make out of traditional knowledge and heritage research-wise, ie.
